Abstract

944,945. Electric cookers. BUSCH-JAEGER DURENER METALLWERKE A.G. March 16, 1960 [March 19, 1959], No. 9304/60. Heading H5H. A control panel upon which all the control switches of a cooker are mounted is secured to the side wall of a cooker with its horizontal surface coplanar with, and to one side of, the cooker working surface, and extending from the front to the back of the cooker. The control panel 2 consists of a metal plate 2k with switches, thermostat, tell-tale lights, and plug socket, mounted in its horizontal portion and a timer 4 or 5 in an end portion bent coplanar with the front of the cooker, the leads 9 from the switches connecting with terminal blocks 10 pluggable into further blocks 7 secured to the side wall of the cooker and connecting with the heating elements. The side and bottom of the panel are encased ; further front and side plates 1c and 1d may provide a storage space beneath the panel. The-cover plate 1e, when lowered and locked in position, prevents access to both the working surface 1a and the control panel. The switch housings may project obliquely from the panel surface (Fig. 7, not shown).
