A camera with an exposure measuring device comprises an exposure value setting member for shutter speed and diaphragm aperture means in operative relation with entraining means for said other means said entraining means being movable to select one of two couplings between the setting member and said other means, each coupling corresponding to a different range of exposure values. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 a rotatable setting member 1 is rotatable clockwise when manually operable member 5 is moved in direction a, until a follow up pointer attached to member 8 abuts the pointer of an exposure meter, to set the exposure time and diaphragm aperture. These settings are achieved by means of a rod 10 which moves in slots 19, 20 in setting rings 21, 22, respectively. These rings are connected to diaphragm control plate 37 and exposure time control plate 38 respectively by means of springs, and have pins which engage recesses 35, 36. Two alternative sets of exposure settings are attainable, one in which the rod 10 moves in a slot 14 in a plate 11 and engages parts 19b, 20a of slots 19, 20 so that the full range of exposure times is covered before the diaphragm aperture is altered. The reverse happens when the rod moves in slot 13 in plate 11. A cam 17 on a rotatable plate determines in which of slots 13, 14 the rod 10 moves. In the idle position the diaphragm is fully open and the shutter is set at its slowest speed. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 the member 1 is replaced by a member 50 and mounted on it are two, two-armed levers 56, 57 which are controlled by cam 58 on a rotatable and manually adjustable member 60. The lever 57 controls through projection 57b, rod 63, projections 69a, 71, and lug 75 which engages the diaphragm aperture setting means. Lever 56 controls through a projection 56b (which engages rod 64) plate 65, cam 67 and rod 68 which engages the shutter speed control means. When the end 56a, 57a of one of the levers 56, 57 engages cam part 58a the other end of that lever engages its setting rod 63 or 64 but the other lever which engages cam part 58b does not abut its corresponding rod to alter its respective setting means until the member 10 has run down by an amount corresponding to the total range of the other setting means. By rotating member 60 through 180 degrees the two setting means can be adjusted in the reverse order. Specification 888,973 is referred to.
