Two formulae are given for heat ray absorbing glass for use in studio lighting apparatus. I. P2O5 67.86%; SiO2 6.35%; B2O3 4.10%; Al2O3 16.58%; ZnO 3.06%; FeO 2.05%. II. P2O5 70.37%; SiO2 5.98%; B2O3 3.83%; Al2O3 14.45%; ZnO 3.95%; FeO 1.42%. Wire gauze or mesh may be embedded in the glass and it may be coated with a heat conducting film such as a metallic layer or oxide layer.
