Abstract

Antibiotically active reaction products are produced by reacting a compound selected from Mitomycin C and related antibiotics designated a , b , g 1, and g 2 with an amine, the reaction being continued until the product obtained shows ultraviolet absorption and chromatographic Rf numbers differing from the starting material and further reaction does not produce significant changes therein. The antibiotics a , b , g 1 and g 2, which may be produced by strains of Streptomyces verticillatus, are described in the Specification.
