Abstract

941,740. Shuttering for casting bridge decks. LEONARD FAIRCLOUGH Ltd. May 28, 1962 [June 20, 1961], No. 22163/61. Heading E1S. A roadway A for a bridge 17, 18 is cast on shuttering comprising plates 12 each mounted on longitudinal girders 13 and transverse girders 14 and each of which is adapted to be raised on the bridge by screws 16, for casting and also lowered for advancing under the cast concrete to the next section. Four such shuttering members are shown in Fig. 1 adapted to be advanced by a winch 19. To allow movement of the shuttering one or both sides 12a of the shuttering are retractable from the concrete by rack and pinion which like the screw 16 are operated through holes in the shuttering and the concrete.
