An olefin polymer is stabilized with one or more condensation products of an alkyl phenol with an aldehyde, a ketone or a chloride of sulphur, and one or more compounds of pentavalent phosphorus which contain at least one O or S joined to P by a double bond and at least one amino group (optionally substituted by a hydrocarbon radical) or one or more compounds of trivalent phosphorus containing at least one amino group (optionally substituted by a hydrocarbon radical). The phosphorus compound may be of formula wherein X is O or S; Y is -NHR, -NR 2 , -R<SP>1</SP>, -SR or -OR; R is H or a C, to C 25 hydrocarbon radical; and R is halogen or a C 1 to C 25 hydrocarbon radical. Specified classes of phosphorus compounds are phosphorus acid amides, phosphoric acid amides, phosphoric acid ester amides, phosphonic acid amides, thiophosphoric acid amides, thiophosphoric acid ester amides, thiophosphonic acid amides, pyrophosphoric acid tetramides and tris-phosphoric acid pentamides. The condensation product may be one of those described in Specification 880,931, e.g. a condensation product of nonyl phenol with acetone, and the polymer may be derived from ethylene and/or propylene and/or butylene. Solvents such as acetone or methylene chloride may be used in forming the polymer/stabilizer compositions. In examples the following phos- .phorus compounds are used; phosphorus acid tridodecylamide, phosphorus acid trioctadecylamide, phosphoric acid N-methyl-octadecylamide diamide, phenyl phosphonic acid dioctadecylamide, thiophosphoric acid tributylamide, and thiophosphoric acid dibutylamide dianilide.
