[Also in Division B8] The lift car 11 of a lift for light goods such as documents is divided into compartments 12, each associated with a floor of the building served and each provided with a push button 15 to actuate an indicator device 16 such as a light and/or a bell on the associated floor. At each floor there is a call button 17, and lift car arrival and call accepted indicators may be provided. In operation, if it is desired to send goods from the ground floor to, say, the fourth and sixth floors, the car is called to the ground floor, the goods are placed in the compartments corresponding to the fourth and sixth floors and the push buttons in these compartments are operated to actuate the bells or indicating lights on the fourth and sixth floors. Operators at these floors then press the call buttons 17 to call the car to these floors.
