Abstract

936,929. Preventing bursting. GEORGE KENT Ltd. May 30, 1961, No. 19457/61. Drawings to Specification. Class 99(2). [Also in Group XXIX] The liquid containing parts of a flow meter (see Group XXIX) are protected against damage due to expansion of the liquid on freezing by filling the spaces in the said parts with an element compressible by the liquid when it freezes formed of an expanded rigid plastic such as polystyrene or polyvinylchloride. The plastic is expanded to a density of 12 1bs. per cu. ft. in a manner which ensures that the cells in the structure do not intercommunicate.
