Abstract
936,563. Earthing arrangements. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKRISKA A.B. March 2, 1962 [March 4, 1961], No. 8131/62. Class 38 (4). In a D.C. transmission system using an earth return wherein the current direction may be reversible, two electrodes 2, 3 may be employed alternatively connectible by means of switches 4, 5 controlled by a direction sensitive relay. The switches 4, 5 may be replaced by oppositely connected diodes. The cathodic electrode may be of metal, preferably copper, while the anodic electrode should be of inert material such as magnetite, preferably formed into a number of parallel connected cylinders.
