Abstract

The invention comprises 6-azacytidine having melting point of 215-6 DEG C., and its preparation by acylating 6-azauridine, then reacting the peracyl derivative so formed with phosphorus pentasulphide and treating the 21,31,51-tri-O-acyl-4-thio-6-azauridine with alcoholic ammonia.
