A closure device for a container 12 comprises a preferably flexible cap 10, fitting over the container neck 11, with an opening 13 into which engages a plug 14, the portion 14b being the same shape as the opening 13. The outer portion 14a acts as an actuator for tilting the plug to open the container. The cap 10 may have beads 16 to engage shoulders provided on the container neck.
