Abstract
935,248. Valves. HARPER-WYMAN CO. Dec. 31, 1959 [June 2, 1959 (2)], No. 44441/59. Class 135. A rotary gas flow-control valve 24 adjusts a burner flame height simultaneously with adjustment via screw 54 of the fulcrum of bimetal lever 44 of a valve 46 actuated by thermal element 38, 40 whereby a high temperature is set for a low flame setting and vice versa, but in which, after the flame setting has been made, the clutch disc 100 is moved against spring 112 away from rotary valve drive yoke 106 for separately setting the thermostatic valve by axial movement of knob 30 and stem 26 provided by pin 86 and slot 88. The high end of the flame selector markings is adjacent the high end of the set temperature markings on the knob. The seat 48 of the valve 46 is also adjustable. The rotary valve may have two grooves, one for a pilot burner at 80 and the other 76 of varying size leading via valve 46 to the main outlet 36.
