Abstract
932,617. Photographic cameras. COMPUR-WERK, FRIEDRICK DECKEL, o.H.G. Feb. 24, 1960 [Feb. 27, 1959], No. 6546/60. Class 98 (1). In a photographic camera comprising an exchangeable objective, a diaphragm actuating mechanism and an associated control mechanism arranged to co-operate with an exposure meter, the diaphragm actuating mechanism is built into the camera and comprises an abutment member which is deflectable against the resistance of a restoring spring into an end position preferably corresponding to the maximum diaphragm aperture and, during return from said end position, is interceptible by an intercepting member controlled or constituted by the exposure meter, the diaphragm control mechanism is built into the exchangeable objective and comprises a control member movable against the resistance of a restoring spring in the direction of maximum diaphragm aperture and provided with an entraining member projecting from the exchangeable objective, and an intermediate member coupled with said abutment member and a manually movable setting member are provided in the camera, said setting member and said intermediate member having arms which are arranged to move in different paths and are movable into the path of motion of said entraining member. As shown (Fig. 1) an exchangeable objective comprising parts 200a and 200b is attached to a camera front by means of a bayonet connection 200c and 204a. Diaphragm control mechanism accommodated in said exchangeable objective comprises a blade control ring 202 urged into an end position associated with maximum aperture by a spring 202a and provided with a projecting entraining arm 202b. Diaphragm actuating mechanism in the camera comprises an abutment ring 84 which is rotatable by a coupled cocking ring 80 into an end position associated with maximum diaphragm aperture and is releasable-at shutter release-to rundown under loading of a spring 84b into a position determined by a photoelectric control device, as disclosed in Specification 928,056. Corresponding adjustment of diaphragm control ring 202 is effected through transmission mechanism comprising coupled pinions 120a and 120b on a shaft 120 and an intermediate ring 122 having an arm 122b engaged by the arm 202b. A manual diaphragm setting ring 96 is also provided with an arm 96b movable into engagement with the arm 202b. A shutter speed control ring 20 is shown coupled to an external setting ring 22. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown), the ring 20 is provided with an axially extending arm which is arranged to engage under spring-loading with either the arm 122b for joint setting of the diaphragm and shutter or with a lug on an external setting ring for manual setting of the shutter. In an embodiment for use with single lens reflex cameras (cf. Figs. 2 and 3), provision is made for opening the shutter blades 13 between exposures for focusing purposes. Here, the cocking ring 80 is shown coupled through a pinion 30<SP>1</SP> to a cocking shaft 30. Freely rotatable on a bushing 10a in which the shaft 30 rotates is a coupling member 210 having an arm 210b co-operating with a pin 212a on a shutter blade control ring 212, and having two arms 210<SP>1</SP> and 210<SP>11</SP> between which a torsion spring 214 is arranged. On cocking the shutter, the ring 210 is allowed to rotate by an arm 206a under tension of a spring 210c into the shutter open position. On shutter release, an actuating disc 206 runs down with the pinion 30<SP>1</SP>, arm 206a thereon comes against end 214b of spring 214 and thereby relieves arm 210<SP>11</SP> of tension, and, as a result, ring 210 rotates into the shutter closed position ready for exposure. Run down of shaft 30 and coupled members is retarded by a star-wheel 104a and pallet 104b.
