932,043. Drying tissue specimens. R. THAINE. May 11, 1962 [Feb. 24, 1961], No. 6863/61. Addition to 905,630. Class 49. [Also in Group XIII] In the method and apparatus according to the parent Specification the jar 2 has a side tube 2d into which telescopes a stem extension 16 of a flask 18 containing a liquid embedding material so that rotation of the flask about the axis of the stem decants the liquid on to the specimen in the dish 6. The dish rests on a nylon pot 5, the interior of which opens through the table 3 into a circular spigot 19 which enters a doublewalled copper cup 21. The inner wall 21a of the cup is open at the bottom and the outer wall is closed, and the cup has a tube 22 connected to a vacuum pump to extract air from the chamber formed by the jar 2. The cup depends into a flask 23 removably suspended by hooks and filled with refrigerant to form a cold trap for condensing lubricant vapour from the pump.
