Abstract

931,984. Automatic exchange switches. HASLER A.G. Aug. 28, 1959 [Aug. 28, 1958], No. 29443/59. Class 40 (4). [Also in Group XIX] A switch is arranged to operate successively individual ones of a plurality of contact sets, in response to successive electrical input pulses. As described, contact-operating springs 16a ... 16k are raised in turn to operate respective associated switch contact sets (Fig. 3, not shown). The first input pulse of a series is applied to an electromagnet 3, a cam 9 on the armature arm 3a of the electromagnet raising a actuating spring 26a thereby to raise the associated contact-operating spring 16a to operate the associated electrical contact set (not shown). During the armature movement, an upturned end of a bent angle-spring 28, the other end of which is fixed in a bent-over end 17a of the contact-operating spring 16a, is rocked to displace laterally the end of the actuating spring 26b associated with an adjacent order. Also during the armature movement, a tooth 21a of an eleven-toothed spring-biased pawl 22 is first moved back by pressure at the edge of a window 18 in the contact-actuating spring 16a, to disengage the tooth 21a from the window 18 in which it normally engages, the pawl then being spring-urged forwards again to maintain the contact-actuating spring 16a in its raised position. The second and subsequent input pulses are supplied (by means not described) to an electromagnet 4 instead of the magnet 3, each of these pulses causing rocking of a ten-toothed comb 10. The second input pulse is effective to raise only the contact-operating spring 16b since the actuating springs 26c-26k are situated adjacent notches in the comb 10. The upward movement of the contact-operating spring 26b is effective to rock the pawl 22 thereby releasing the contactoperating spring 26a which returns to its original position. Also, the actuating spring 26c in the next order is displaced to its operative position. The last or " k " order is adapted when actuated to prepare the first or " a " order via a bent spring 30. The " a " or zero-position order can be operated at any time by supplying a pulse to the magnet 3. In a modification, not described in detail, only one electromagnet is provided, actuation of any contact-operating spring except the last inhibiting operation of the zero order by means of a link so that the zero order is operated in succession to the last or " k " order.
