Abstract
931,925. Feedwater supply systems. KONINKLIJKE MACHINEFABRIEK GEBR STORK & CO. N.V. Sept. 14, 1961 [Nov. 23, 1960], No. 32977/61. Class 123 (2). Removal of dissolved gases from feedwater for a steam generator comprising a horizontal vessel 1 containing steam-heated heating elements 2 immersed in a body of water in the vessel is achieved by introducing the water into the vessel 1 above the water level and through a spraying device 6 which discharges the water in the form of a screen 8 on to a baffle ring 9 which is joined to the wall of the vessel and surrounds the spraying device 6. Steam from the steam space of the vessel heats the water in the screen causing dissolved gases to be liberated which gases are then discharged through one or more outlets 10 disposed above the screen and within the ring 9. The heating elements may alternatively be fire or smoke tubes.
