Abstract
931,801. Batteries &c., electric. SOC. LES PILES WONDER. April 26, 1961 [April 28, 1960], No. 15144/61. Class 53. A dry-battery cell comprises a fluid-tight metal container 7, the base of which is in contact with the base of the cell anode 1, and a cap 9 of insulating material, through which passes a central electrode 5 and which fluid tightly closes the container 7 but permits electrolyte to pass into the container 7 by way of radial channels 14 in the cap. A turned-over edge 10 of the container forces the cap against the top of the anode. An electrolyte, possibly with a support 3, is applied on the inner walls of the anode and a depolarizing mixture 4 forming a cathode is agglomerated around the electrode 5. The anode extrusion is insulated from the carbon electrode 5 by a member 2. Gas evolved by the cell may pass through pores in the electrode 5.
