Abstract

931,609. Cleaning tanks. AMERICAN CYANAMID CO. Dec. 19, 1960 [Feb. 12, 1960], No. 43551/60. Class 138 (1). Silt accumulations are removed from tanks, e.g. the ballast tanks of ships, by contacting the silt with a flocculating agent which is a high molecular weight polymer, e.g. polyacrylamide, and then removing the silt floes. Several examples of other suitable flocculating agents are specified.
