Abstract

931,084. Transistor trigger circuits; valve pulse producing circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 7, 1961 [April 8, 1960], No. 12601/60. Class 40 (6). A circuit including a pair of reciprocallycoupled valves or transistors 5, 6, Fig. 1, forming a two-state trigger circuit, is characterized in that a power supply 4 is arranged to apply a series of voltage pulses which set the trigger circuit to one or other of its states depending upon the presence or absence of an input signal applied to a trigger input 17. With no input applied to terminal 17 the supply pulses cause transistor 5 to conduct. If an input pulse is applied immediately before a supply pulse to terminal 1, the capacitors 12, 14 charge and the supply pulse causes transistor 6 to conduct. The pulsed power supply 4 may comprise a further pair of transistors 21, 22, Fig. 2, forming a two-state trigger circuit which is switched by timing pulses applied to terminal 34. With the power supply of Fig. 4 a voltage is provided between pulses sufficient to maintain the circuit in a condition with either transistor 5 or 6 conducting, and the circuit may be either monostable in which case the state with transistor 16 conducting ceases after a predetermined time, or bi-stable having a reset circuit.
