Abstract

2-Amylanthraquinones are prepared by cyclodehydration of 2-(41-amylbenzoyl) benzoic acid. In examples, the starting material comprises mixtures of amyl isomers. The products may be reduced to the tetrahydroamylanthraquinone which may be oxidised to the tetrahydroamylanthraquinone. U.S.A. Specification 2,495,229 is referred to.
