930,055. Control of A.C. motors. CREED & CO. Ltd. March 1, 1962, No. 8002/62. Class 38 (3). [Also in Groups XVI, XXXV and XXXVIII] A control circuit for the electric motors of a tape supply apparatus (see Group XVI), has an A.C. supply P connected to a rectifier REC and resistance R1 such that when contacts 26 and 25 are closed the stator ST is supplied with D.C. current and A.C. current when contacts 25 and 27 are closed. When a tape reader TR is started motor switch S is closed, thereby applying a braking action on the motor. Roller 22 causes cam-plate 18 to pivot clockwise to close contacts 25, 27 and remove the braking action.
