Abstract

928,658. Photo-electric control of photographic printing. ILFORD Ltd. Aug. 30, 1961 [Aug. 31, 1960], No. 30065/60. Class 40 (3). [Also in Group XX] A photographic colour printing method comprises assessing the correction to each colour exposure necessary to produce a grey print and applying full correction to the blue exposure and partial correction to at least one of the other exposures. A vacuum photo-cell V1B is exposed to the printing light through a blue filter, and the photo-current charges a condenser C B to terminate the blue exposure after a predetermined quantity of light has fallen upon the printing paper. Photo-cells V1R and V1G are sensitive to red and green printing light, and the termination of the red and green exposures are controlled mainly by the corresponding photo-cell, but also, by means of potential dividers Ru, Rv and Ry Rx, by the other photocell. Potential divider Ru, Rv may be omitted and the trigger of thyratron V3R connected to the cathode of triode V2R directly, Fig. 1 (not shown). Specification 660,099 is referred to.
