Abstract

923,526. Extruding. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Aug. 18, 1960 [Sept. 4, 1959], No. 28626/60. Class 83 (4). The billet container 1 of an extrusion press is removably mounted in its holder 4 by a rotatable bayonet joint ring 7. The latter is mounted in a flange 5 screwed to the holder and has peripheral teeth 8 engaging a driving pinion 9 which may be rotated manually or by a motor. Container 1 has longitudinal slots 12 with which ledges 13 on the ring are aligned to permit withdrawal to the left of the holder 4 after extrusion. When the ring is rotated the ledges engage within an annular groove 14 of the container.
