Abstract

Trioxane, containing at most 2% of water, in the solid phase is subjected to the irradiation of ionizing rays at -78 DEG to 60 DEG C., less than 20% of the total reagents of a solvent which is non-reactive with regard to the trioxane may also be present, e.g. benzene, heptane, acetone and methylene chloride. The trioxane may be in the form of macroscopic crystals and the polymer may be heated at near 60 DEG C.
