Abstract
922,143. Extruding ; making tubes. T.I. (GROUP SERVICES) Ltd. Jan. 23, 1962 [Feb. 27, 1961], No. 7041/61. Addition to 884,410. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). In a method of making a beryllium tube according to the parent Specification, the core is formed from a material having a coefficient of expansion higher than that of beryllium. The core is preferably of steel containing 10% manganese and 5% nickel and may be solid or hollow in which case it has a solid centre of a cheaper material. It is removed from the extruded tube by pickling or stretching or may become sufficiently loose upon cooling.
