Abstract

922,004. Moulding gears. SANGAMO WESTON Ltd. Dec. 3, 1959 [Dec. 15, 1958], No. 40372/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXIV]. Each of the bevel sun gears 15, 16 of a differential gear (see Group XXIV) is moulded from a plastic such as nylon, and is made in a common die moulding the bevel teeth 19 in combination with a further die moulding the parts of the gear beyond the flash line L-L. As shown, the further die used to mould the sun gear 15 forms a flange with teeth 22 thereon, and the further die used to mould the sun gear 16 forms an extended hub with peripheral gear teeth 23. Sun gears with different numbers of teeth 23, &c. may be moulded by combining the common die with other dies of the required configuration.
