Abstract

915,317. Locking-nuts. BROWN BROS. (AIRCRAFT) Ltd. Aug. 15, 1961 [Aug. 18, 1960; June 5, 1961], Nos. 28721/60 and 20274/61. Class 89 (1). By cutting two slots 11 in the end of a metal or synthetic resin nut, outwardly from the middle in opposite directions, two springy leaves 13 are produced and these are bent down so that their threaded portions are of a smaller diameter than that of the remaining main thread. Material may be removed from the end of the nut so that the tops of the leaves are parallel to their corresponding slot faces, Fig. 1 (not shown), or non-parallel chamfers may be provided.
