[Also in Group XXXIX] A telephone subscriber wishing to be called at a predetermined time may gain access to alarm equipment at the exchange which records the desired time as represented by dialled digits and also the subscriber's number, so that the call may be initiated in due course under time control. As shown for a PABX the alarm equipment is reached by the dialling of a particular number. The subscriber's number is identified and recorded on relays CR, and after receiving fresh dialling tone WT he dials four digits representing the time he wishes to be called, these being recorded on switches StZ, StE, MiZ, MiE. An acknowledgment tone QT may be sent, or the time may be repeated back acoustically from apparatus ZG. The contacts of the storage switches are connected to those of similar switches which are stepped from a clock, and when coincidence occurs a relay An operates and starts an alarm selector WW which is set under the control of the relays CR. The subscriber is called and upon reply receives from ZG a time announcement which may be followed if desired by a short message previously recorded by himself. If the subscriber is found engaged, the call may be repeated until it is successful, and the time announcement is then corrected. The subscriber may cancel the time record without releasing if he has misdialled, or he may recall the alarm equipment in order to cancel the alarm call. The alarm equipment may be located at another exchange, in which case the subscriber's number is transferred thereto in code form.
