[Also in Groups XIV and XXV] A gutter bracket comprises a base 1, apertured at 7 for reception of a fixing-screw 9, and a part 4, integral with the base and having a slot 5 to receive the end of a section of gutter 18. The slot may be a through slot, in which case a similar bracket can be used as an intermediate support for the length of gutter, or a stop may be provided by a grub-screw or by forming lateral grooves 11 separated by a stop 12, as shown in Fig. 5. The brackets and gutter sections are preferably moulded in polyvinyl chloride, i.e., the gutter being an interference fit in the slot and the end 6 of the bracket is preferably resilient and distorts to grip the gutter sections which may have thinned end portions 17a, 19 which are overlapped and secured by plastic adhesive. Corner, end, and discharge spout fittings, also provided with thinned end portions, and intermediate brackets having inturned edges to fit over the edges of the gutter section, are described. In modifications longitudinal strengthening fins or beaded edges are provided on the gutter sections which are preferably formed by longitudinal division of extruded or drawn synthetic plastic tube.
