914,725. Copying; cutting by fusion. WHITELEY-READ ENGINEERS Ltd. April 30, 1959 [April 15, 1958], No. 11936/58. Classes 83 (3) and 83 (4). Apparatus for cutting or marking cylindrical material, particularly where this is required to form bends in tubular installations, comprises a drum 3, carrying the cylinder 1 of tubular material which is to be cut &c., which is rotated by a shaft 2 having a bevel gear 4 secured thereto. A bevel gear 5 driven by the bevel 4 drives through an axially adjustable link 6 a crank disc 7. A pin 8 on the disc engages a footpiece 9 secured to the lower end of a rod 10 reciprocable parallel to the cylinder axis. An adjustable boss 11 secured to the rod is adapted to carry a cutting or marking tool 13. The cutting tool may be an oxy-acetylene burner.
