Abstract

914,274. Resonators. CITROEN S.A., ANDRE. Aug. 3, 1960 [Aug. 7, 1959], No. 26866/60. Class 13. A resonator whose resonant frequency may be varied comprises a cylindrical vessel 6, arranged to be connected to a duct 10 via a rotatable orifice 8. The inflow or outflow from the orifice creates a vortex whose effect on the inertance of the duct varies with the angle α. The angle of rotation may be controlled by a lever 11 carrying a pointer moving over a scale calibrated in frequency. Resonance may be detected by a hot-wire anemometer situated within the duct 10.
