Abstract

913,314. Vehicle tailboards. MICKLEOVER TRANSPORT Ltd. May 16, 1961 [May 16, 1960], No. 17191/60. Class 108(1). A vehicle body 14 has a tailboard 34 connected, as by hinges 32, to a plurality of cranked levers 25 each pivoted on a pin 23 to a transverse body member 19 so that the tailboard may form an extension of the floor 12 or assume an upstanding position n spaced inwardly of the edge of the vehicle floor 12. Tubular brackets 37 pivoted on axes perpendicular to the floor 12 either lie against the member 19 or project from it to support the tailboard in a horizontal position where it is held by one or more lugs 49 on the brackets 37 engaging bridge portions 48 on the outer bars 33 of the tailboard. The roller shutter 16 (Fig. 1) may be lowered to the floor outside the raised tailboard which is prevented from falling forwards by stops 36 on the hinges 32. Specification 905,937 is referred to.
