Abstract

913,274. Toy vehicles. SHIPTON PLASTICS Ltd. Sept. 29, 1961 [Dec. 23, 1960], No. 44279/60. Class 132 (3). A toy having a hollow body part made of plastic material by blow moulding has an integral inwardly-extending cavity having walls integral with the blow moulded skin, and a driving mechanism located in the cavity with propelling means driven by the mechanism, arranged externally of the cavity. The body 1 has a hollow cavity 11 with ribs 12. The driving mechanism supported between frames 9 slides within the cavity with flanges 10 resting against the body moulding. A cover-plate 14 with a hollow part 17 to accommodate a gearwheel has studs 15 which engage in holes 16 in the bottom of the body. The rear axle 5 rests in a transverse channel in the moulding. The mechanism may alternatively to the coverplate be secured by pegs snapped through holes in the flanges 10.
