912,551. Electric selective-signalling systems. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. April 28, 1959 [April 29, 1958], No. 14456/59. Class 40 (1). The angular position of a shaft 15, Fig. 1, is digitized by an array of polepieces 23 which co-operate with a coded rotor 16 (see Fig. 2 for section on line II-II), the polepieces being grouped in fours, Fig. 2, and carrying coils connected as bridges, Fig. 6, to which are applied A.C. current. Thus in each of the sixteen different significant positions of the shaft 15 a combination of A.C. potentials representative of the position is produced which are full-wave rectified (Fig. 16, not shown), to give a combination of D.C. potentials.
