Abstract

912,452. Threshold weather bars. CORNELL, G. W., and CORNELL, W. E. March 15, 1961 [Jan. 18, 1961], No. 9439/61. Class 20 (3). A threshold weather bas comprises an L- sectioned strip 20, Fig. 1, of rigid P.V.C. adapted to be secured to the front upper corner of a threshold stop 100, the tread portion 22 having depending therefrom flanges 28, 40 terminating in arrow heads so that they may be pressed into an uncured concrete &c. step and held secured therein when the concrete has cured, and the leg of the strip on the riser portion 104 of the step has grooves formed therein to receive interfittingly flanges 74 on a plasticized P.V.C. bumper seal strip 24 of the section shown in Fig. 3. Before assembly and for delivery to the site for use, the T-groove in the leg 28 of strip 22 may be covered by an adhesive strip. When the threshold is of wood, the flanges 40 and arrow head 62 are omitted and the strip secured by screws through the tread which may be surfaced with strips of emery cloth between ribs 32.
