912,436. Filters. ROBINSON, C., and ROBINSON, G. W. Sept. 25, 1961 [Oct. 12, 1960], No. 34879/61. Class 46. A rotary disc filter element 4 has an undercut peripheral groove f and a metallic gauze filtering sheet on each face which is clamped tc the element at one end by a metal strip 8 and the overturned portions 9 of the sheets are forced down into the groove by a frame (not shown) placed around the ele ment, thus stretching the sheets across the faces of the element, the edges of the sheets being overlapped and held in the groove by lead beading 10, or waxed cord, which is swaged therein. In a modification the beading is of heavy gauge lead wire, the ends of which are secured to a clamp around a spigot 11.
