Abstract

912,237. Mixing-appliances. EVOMASTICS Ltd. Aug. 18, 1961 [Aug. 19, 1960], No. 28790/60. Class 86. A hand-operated mixer comprises a rod 9 having a helix or multi-start screw, a clamp 11 at the lower end for attaching a stirrer 13, and at the upper end a freely rotatable handle 10 by which the screw 9 may be reciprocated through a nut 15. On the down stroke the studs 16, 17 engage clutching the nut 15 to the frame 3 so that the screw 9 and the stirrer 13 are rotated. On the up stroke the nut is lifted disengaging the studs 16, 17 ; the nut is then free to rotate on the screw. The apparatus is primarily intended for stirring paint, or mastic in a refill container for an extrusion gun; the container may be clamped on the platform 5 by toggle clamps and fingers 6, 8, and there may be a container closure 18. The screw may alternatively be power operated as by a compressed air motor. Specification 841,269 is referred to.
