Abstract

910,905. Electric analogue calculating. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 27, 1961 [Feb. 11, 1960], No. 4895/60. Class 37. With contacts 4 and 9 closed a differentialselsyn 1 receives signals from two selsyns 2, 3 and positions its rotor in accordance with their sum. Contacts 4 and 9 are then opened and a follow-up loop, comprising selsyns 5, 6, comparator A-B and a motor, is energized, by means not shown, to cause the rotor of selsyn 3 to assume the angular position of the rotor of the differential selsyn. If contacts 4 and 9 are then again closed the differential-selsyn will therefore advance a further amount determined by the setting of selsyn 2. Thus the differential-selsyn, together with the followup loop, accumulate signals successively received from the selsyn 2. If the selsyn 2 is kept in the same position this will result in a step-by-step motion of a shaft 7 of the followup loop.
