909,996. Printing-surfaces. ALLERS ETABLISSEMENT A.S., CARL. Dec. 29, 1958, No. 41929/58. Class 100 (2). In a mechanism for clamping a flexible plate 2 around a cylinder by bars 5 mounted in opposition in an axial groove in the cylinder, the bars 5 are each provided with a groove 8 to receive out-turned lips 7 of the plate which ends 6 pass down between the bars and wherein operating mechanism is located in the groove 8 to move the bars and includes means to eject the lips from the grooves in the bar. The grooves or recesses 8 are formed conjointly by the wall of the recesses in the bar 5 and by the outer surface of a shoulder 9<SP>1</SP> on a supplementary part 9 formed locally or continuously with a bead 10. A spring C clip 16 is attached to the sleeves 11 so that when a disc 12 is rotated the bar 5 moves axially in relation to the sleeve 11 and the bead 10 strips the lips 7 from the groove 8. Adjacent discs, designated B, Fig. 1, which effect the strips operate on different ends 6 of the plate 2. Further discs A are rotatable to draw the bars 5 together to clamp the plate around the cylinder and further discs C having pins 11 shaped eccentrically at 19 so that the bent ends 6 of the plate may be drawn into the groove.
