Abstract

Rubber (natural or synthetic), polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene or polyvinylchloride may be stabilized against ozone by the incorporation therein of 0,1 to 5% of a hydrazide. Hydrazides used in the examples are sebacic dihydrazide, adipic dihydrazide, N-acetyl-amino-piperidine, N-pivaloyl-aminopiperidine, N2:N4-hexamethylene succinic dihydrazide, N2:N4-bis(isopropyl) succinic dihydrazide and N2:N4-bis(isopropylidene) succinic dihydrazide.
