Abstract

908,381. Screw conveyers. SCOTT & SON (LONDON) Ltd., GEORGE, and LING, T. S. Jan. 21, 1960 [Jan. 21, 1959], No. 2265/59, Class 78 (1). The shaft 4 of a screw elevator 5 is journalled at one end only, i.e. in the end wall 3 of the casing 2 adjacent to driving motor 11. The casing has a number of longitudinal strips 13 which support the elevator, and the upward bodily movement of the conveyer is limited by an abutment 14 (Fig. 2), on the casing so that the elevator yields when obstructed by a stone.
