907,869. Cowls. BREWER, C. E. March 25, 1959 [April 3, 1958], No. 10870/58. Class 25. A cowl adapted to be fixed to the top of a chimney pot or air duct 6 comprises spaced concave members 1 connected together by a cover plate 4 and an annular member 2. The members 1 form between them vertically extending slot-like gas or air outlets whilst the member 2 carries screws 5 for rigidly holding the cowl against the pot &c. and flexible strips 7 which are adapted to engage the rim of the latter and may be vertically adjustable on the member 2. The annular member may carry spring means which automatically adjusts itself to a size of chimney to hold the cowl in position and at the desired distance down the pot or duct. The member 2 may be other than circular. Specification 903,003 is referred to.
