A method of loading the cores 20a into the small diameter holes 18 in a centrifugal casting mould 10 of the type described in Specification 847,454 which is referred to, comprises forming an annular space around the mould wall, and applying a vacuum to the space so that cores applied to the inner ends of the holes from the mould cavity are sucked into the holes. The cores protrude from the holes and after inspection are pushed back by hand. Tape 50 masks some holes while others are having cores fitted.
