Abstract

Coils of aluminium foil are annealed in a circulating gas containing free oxygen. The oxygen content of the gas is at least 5% and the feed rate is 0.005 cubic feet per hour per square foot of coil surface measured on both sides. The gas may be ordinary air. The process may be carried out at 575-725 DEG F. maintained for 2-5 hours. U.S.A. Specifications 1,996,379 and 2,506,364 are referred to.
