Abstract

Air and other gases are removed from hydraulic fluids before or during the filling of the fluid reservoir with the fluid but before the fluid reservoir housing is closed, the degassing being effected by (a) subjecting the fluid to a vacuum, or (b) centrifuging the fluid, or (c) treating the fluid with a suspension of sodium in oil and thereafter separating the resulting compounds from the fluid by centrifuging.
