Abstract

Briquettes are made from powdered material by forcing it through a die without a constricttion or convergent taper but with a crosssection that changes along the length of the die so that angular shear strain (as explained in the parent Specification) is induced in the briquette, preferably in excess of 20 degrees. The die section may change from elliptical to circular or vice-versa, as from rhombic to square, circular to hexagonal &c. Specification 875,441 also is referred to.
