Abstract
Uranium values are recovered from solutions containing mineral acids in an organic solvent by adsorption at anion-exchangers. The organic solvent may be an alcohol, preferably a primary aliphatic alcohol such as ethyl alcohol, a ketone such as acetone, an ether such as ethyl ether, or an ester such as ethyl acetate. A suitable anion exchange resin is "Dowex 1" (Registered Trade Mark). Mineral acids mentioned are sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid. If a hydrochloric acid solution is employed, any titanium, zirconium or thorium values remain in solution.
