Abstract
901,253. Loose - leaf binders; albums. CAPRARA, A. J. July 20, 1959 [July 25, 1958], No. 24915/59. Classes 11 and 146 (1). In an album or binder for flat articles such as gramophone records, pictures, or documents, the articles are inserted in plastic wrappers 10, 11 folded in two about a rod 8, the ends of which are inserted in pockets at each end of the spine of the album and a split tube 12 of resilient material is dipped over the outside of the spine to secure the wrappers firmly on the rod. Alternatively, the pockets face outwardly and the ends of the rod 8 are bent over to engage therein. One cover 4 of the binder extends over both sides of the wrappers, the second shorter cover 3 engaging the cover 4 by means of press studs 5. In a further embodiment, Fig. 8, several sets of wrappers each with an associated rod and split tube 12a ... 12n are arranged on the spine of an album. The covers 13 of the album are each open along one edge to receive a stiffening plate 14 and one end of a wrapper 10, the cover 13 and wrapper 10 being folded about a rod 8 and a split tube 12 clipped thereover. The rods 8 may be covered by a plastic sheath 9.
