[Also in Group XXXVI] Soil heating cable is laid in the ground by cutting at least one pair of parallel slits in the ground at the required depth and guiding, into the respective slits of the or each pair, the two sections of a single cable which extend from opposite sides of a bight in the cable, the bight being secured in a hole or trench before drawing out the cable. A machine for the purpose is described (see Group XXXVI). Several pairs of cables may be laid at the same time.
