Abstract
898,589. Pipe joints. AUCAMP, J. D. Dec. 13, 1960 [Dec. 23, 1959; Jan. 12, 1960], No. 42874/60. Class 99(1). A pipe joint for plain-ended earthenware pipes 11, Fig. 1, is formed by a strip 14 of rubber or like sheet material surrounded by a collar 16 of cementitious material moulded in a moulding box 12. In Fig. 1 the box 12 is of sheet metal and remains in position on the joint. In Fig. 2 the box 17 is split at 18 and is removable and the sheet material 22 extends beyond the end of the box. The gap between the box flanges 19 may be filled by distance pieces 20 or by sheet metal strips secured to the inside of one of the box halves.
